Bubbacakes
Ingredients
Pork Sausage;
Onions;
Garlic;
Cayenne Peppers;
Sage;
Sharp Provolone;
Olive Oil;
Optional Icing:
Feta cheese;
Habanero Pepper Flakes;
Olive Oil;
Instructions
Take any bulk sausage, hand form a thin layer (about 1/4 inch) into a muffin pan. Saute onions, garlic, cayenne peppers and sage in olive oil. Spoon the mixture into the formed sausage, top with sharp provolone, cover with another layer of sausage to form the top of the cake. Cook indirect at 425 degrees for at 30 minutes or until done. To make the icing, mash feta, habanero pepper flakes and olive oil together & let come to room temperature, spread on tops of each cake after they are cooked.Notes
The original cake was created by its namesake, Bubbatim. The above combination is just the first one I did using his format, and the possibilities for fillings and icings are endless, just use the same basic format noted above.Number of Servings:
