I received my copy of Dr BBQ’s Cookbook this weekend and started to read through it. At first glance, it looks like any other BBQ cookbook that you pick up. However, any similarity to any other BBQ Cookbook stops there. When reading the recipes, the stories that surround the recipe are really filled with gems. One of my favorites is the story of the Jack and Coke Steaks. Ray’s personality shines through in the words. I can almost hear Ray reading me the book as I read. If you have had the opportunity to meet Ray, you would understand. I hope that I get a chance to read the book more and even cook something out of it.[p]Beers to You!

    RhumAndJerk,
This weekend I tried three of the recipes in Ray's book for leftover brisket and pork: the chili, the tamali pie, and the pork and posole. They were are real good and easy make (well, the posole took forever to cook, but that's posole!) [p]Brett

RhumAndJerk,[p]Thank you very much. Someone else told me that it read like I speak too, and I consider that a great compliment.

I bought the book last week and love it...Like Mike said it's like sitting and talking to you.

    drbbq,
I picked up your book on Friday and spent the afternoon enjoing a good, easy read. I also felt like you were talking to me. So, even though I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, you have mastered what we try to teach young journalists--write like you speak. Now I have to see if your book helps my brisket!
