Ron, I just talked to Pete and got ordered.....said they wouldn't ship for 5 days or so......and probably straight from the manufacturer. So......we'll see. Thanks for keeping me posted, as well as for the nice offer. Let me know when you get yours, as that will probably precede receit of mine. Curious to hear what your comments are.
-
And Dave, thanks for pokin around for us!!
-
will do! Actually those gloves are made in Chicago, just 160 miles from here so if they are direct ship maybe I'll get them sooner.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Bingo.....
-
LC......they may be coming straight from the factory, which is in Chicago. Just wanted to let you know what I was told. Have a good one.

Thanks transversal! Saw that in your reply to RRP. Bummer, thought I might get them on Monday. This guy is probably saying "Huh? Why the sudden interest in these gloves???"
-
I told him he might be getting a small flurry of orders - in fact when I first called he said "oh, you're the BBQ guy I talked to this morning" and I said "no, that was a guy named Dave who got this whole ball rolling about these gloves!"Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

LOL - I meant to reply to your post about your gloves, Brandon - actually I do remember you wearing those in June, which is amazing I remembered anthing seeing how stinking hot it was that day!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Well, it for darn sure isn't fashion related!!
-
One other point I should have added...yesterday when researching it was common to find that the palms had a lower heat rating than the backs. Typically the palm was 1,000 or 1,200 while the back was 2,000. Pete said these are made so the whole glove withstands 2,000°Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

you might be able to pick your nose with these, where you can't do that with Orkas! just saying... :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

And all this time I thought I could get them in PINK!
-
Ron what does pos stand for? Is that a technical Egging term? I'm a newbee.....please help me out. What is a pos?
-
Jack, as you know I tried to send you a personal email today via this board and you never received it so I guess I have to go public with this - a pos is a genteel way of saying something is a piece of sh*t. Got it? :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
-
Ooooooooooooooooooh!! I thought you were describing the battery terminal on the other side of the one called "neg." I gotcha now, Ron. Thanks for clearing that up for me.......(got my order confirmation).
-
LOL - first time I've had my leg pulled 1,000 miles!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Now for the real question. Who is going to be the first to really heat up a plate setter and grab that bad boy to see if the gloves truly work? :woohoo:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to the Swamp.....GO GATORS!!!! -
That would be Ron.
-
Why did I know that?  :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
-
Ron, ya gotta be pos.......
-
Good night everybody! I have received a bookoo of emails asking questions which I tried to answer - but if you have some more throw them my way in the morning! For now though I'm zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Uh.....one last thing, Ron. Any idea how long it's gonna take to grill those gloves.......I mean, with that much heat resistance in the fabric, are we gonna have to marinate them before we put'em on the grill? I am envisioning a 24 cook at least!! your thoughts, please. And, be pos!!
