Pork Tenderloin Timing

We normally bbq one pork tenderloin at a time and it takes approximately 1.5 hours. We're planning on having a few friends over and will bbq three. We will do them on a large egg, raised grill, and indirect. If one takes 1.5 hours, about how long will three take?

Probably not a whole lot longer. In the short time I have had the egg, I have cooked 1 and 2 butts at the same time, and the time differnce was very minor, I would guess it would be the same with most things.

Tired Jim,[p]I don't think it'll take too much longer at all. You're not cooking a nine pound loin, you're cooking 3 three-pound loins (for example). As long as they're not stacked or touching, I don't see that it'll make much of a difference.

Tired Jim, As long as they aren't touching, any number should take the same amount of time. Just make sure to take them out of the fridge while you are getting the egg up to temp, so they don't lower the egg temp too much when you put them on. :~)

Tired Jim,[p]I think you must be talking about a pork loin, not a tenderloin. A pork tenderloin is done in 20-25 minutes or less. They are small, less than a pound usually.

I had that reaction, too, but my father use to believe you had to kiil pork twice--once before you cut it in large pieces, and the second time as you cook it before cutting it into bite sized pieces. His roasts always were like jerky until I showed him the "official" new guidelines for cooking pork from the USDA.

SyraQ, I should have mentioned this before. Our tenderloins are larger than average and we normally cook at 325-350 dome temperature indirect. They typically take about an hour and a quarter.[p]Tired Jim
