I use a tin camping dinner plate under my chicken setter...it's good for keeping the toes from burning

i dont, however i do use a raised grill

I never use a drip pan for my vertical roasted chicks. Sure, the feet get toasted, but I ain't eatin the bone anyways ;~)

i don't use a drip pan, but i do put mine on grid over inverted plate setter at 350 so they roast. . . .
