<p />Just walked in the door from the Maryland competition and it was a great day for Eggers and friends. The Dizzy Pig guys did a great job adding another Grand to their collection of awards. The two first place trophies and a ribbin or two along with the Grand Champion trophy looked pretty sweet on their table. The free range team (the Virginian and AKA Mr. Earl) also took home a few awards and the BBQ Guru team, in their first competition, took a 6th in brisket and a first in sausage. The details are a little blurry right now but it was a great competition. It was awesome to be there.[p]Congratulations to everyone!! [p]Chuck[p][p]
  • bbbrown,
not only did dizzy win grand. .which included a first in brisket, and i think a third in ribs but the free range team (with the virginian and mr. earl cooking on the mad max eggs), took a 6th overall and 2nd in brisket and i think 3rd or 5th in pork. ... [p]a great showing by eggheads. .. ..

    bbbrown,
Hats off to everyone...couldn't happen to a better bunch of folks![p]Mike

  • bbbrown,[p]You know what is so really cool about that, I have all the same equipment and spices. So there is a possibility that I could also make food that might be considered grand champion quality. I'm not saying I have the talent or skills to do that, but they could do it on my Egg. That is just awesome![p]Congratulations to all the eggheads![p]Joe
  • bbbrown,[p]Congrats go out to the Dizzy Pig team for another Grand in Maryland and also to the Free Range team with a great 6th place finish. Egger teams are sure tough to beat!![p]I think we had one more team using Eggs and I hope he reports in as well. JDOTR (Co-Bros-Que) I think was competiting in Winchester, Tn and hope he got his name called as well. [p]Dave

  • Hooter,[p]Yeap. that's him. He showed in his trademark blue overalls and red/white shirt. And no it is not an accident that those are the flag's colors.
  • Chet,[p]Congratulations on the call to the stage with your sauce. Looks like all the Egger teams did well this weekend. Good luck in Rocket City. [p]Dave

Hey, those DO look pretty cool on the table! Still can't believe it....so the photo helps![p]Chuck, it was really good hanging out with you, as always. I am sure the Guru guys were really glad to have you around. You can come hang with us anytime. Was a pleasure. A hearty congrats to you and the Guru team. That was a serious first-time showing. It was obvious that you all had a good time too.
    Cheers

  • Nature Boy,[p]BTW Dizzy Pig is one of the Free Range team sponsors and the Guru boys use a lot of Dizzy Pig product as well. [p]It'd be interesting to tally up how many other teams at places like Salisbury have started using the Dizzy stuff as well.[p]I can't figure out whether this good or bad for you and/or us.[p]

    Nature Boy,
Ditto congrads to Chris et. al. Beautiful day in southern Missouri. Told my wife that I needed to do some work at the office, but the truth of the matter is I just wanted to check out the egg forum.
