salt block question

how much different would it be to make my own salt block with kosher salt and some whipped up egg whites for searing scallops, thinking scallops tonight and no block here

    lol :laugh: get cheap scallops. I have thought about stopping at the TSC once or twice... might take a while to get to temp though. :laugh:
