We have a block cul-de-sac coffee on Saturday morning and I want to take SSN686's Sausage and Pastry roll. I've got the recipe, but does anyone know if he did this on a raised grid w/platesetter, or what?[p]Thanks, Mike

Lawn Ranger,[p]I cooked at 350 indirect with a placesetter. That was some good stuff.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,[p]Can you point me to the recipe for these treats?[p]Thanks, Mike

This recipe is so versatile, like a calzone, where you can add or substitute things like chopped spinach, mushrooms, ham, different cheeses, etc. Or make several kinds.[p]But tossing it into a bundt pan bakes it differently and is a cool presentation![p]Lee

Car Wash Mike,
Did you find that it was enough?[p]Mike

Lawn Ranger,[p]When mixing with the sausage and egg, I thought it was. Lets do 2 this weekend. One with a lb and the other with 8 oz.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,
I may split the difference and go with 12. I think I'll use Monterrey Jack.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,[p]
I used 2 eggs and the pound of cheese. thought it could use another egg and less cheese. Also, I am going to try swiss next time as the kid thought the cheese taste was too strong.

MasterMason,[p]That is what I was going to do this weekend. 2-3 eggs. I'm going to stick with 8 oz cheese. I used colby-jack,
The ingredients are endless.[p]Mike

Morning Lawn Ranger:[p]Sorry I wasn't available yesterday to answer your questions as I was away from a computer all day, but it looks like Car Wash Mike and others did a good job of covering for me. Normally I fix these on a platesetter (feet down). The last couple I also added the pizza stone on top of the platesetter and that seems to help with making sure the dough is done completely through. As someone said above, they used 2 eggs and less cheese. The original recipe called for 1 or 2 eggs. I should have listed it that way, but I normally use only 1, as that is what I like. The amount of cheese listed was correct at one pound, but I am sure I have not always put that much in (just depended on what I had in the fridge). As has been mentioned, it is a very versatile cook and the possible fillings are only as endless as your imagination.[p]Have a GREAT day!
