broken ring

edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
While I was moving, the ceramic ring that sits on the firebox was broken. I am having a hard time getting a replacement one. Can I cook without it? The grate seems to be somewhat surdy if wedged in.

Alan London,[p]You should be able to cook with your broken ring without a problem. Try placing the ring together on top of the firebox like jigsaw pieces and gravity should keep it together. After a few cooks, the accumulated grease and ash will act as an adhesive and hold it together even more.
Give it a try and good luck![p]John

Alan London,[p]WooDoggies idea will work fine for you, but if you want a replacement, give John at BGE Customer service a call or email him at john at biggreenegg.com and you should be able to purchase a replacement.[p]Cheers,[p]GrillMeister[p]
