Smoked Signals,[p]Sounds like a plan and many good eats for you today.[p]It might be one of those cooks that we will name it after eating. Don't have a clue yet.
    Kinda lurking today for ideas.[p]Mike

Smoked Signals,[p]I just finished some Waldorf experiments - mini muffins. So far, I've done Pumpkin, Banana Blueberry, Orange Pecan and Raspberry Cream Cheese. Now we've got to narrow it down to which ones we want to settle on for the Fest![p]Tonight's dinner is going to be:[p]Persian Saffron Lamb
    Asparagus Dill Souffle
    Sliced Tomatoes and Cucumbers
    Jalepeno Cheddar Mini Muffins
Greek Salad with Orgeano Vinegarette[p]The lamb and the mini muffins are more test cooks for Waldorf. I've done the lamb before as chops and it was outstanding. I'm doing it today with a boneless leg, so wanted to make sure it would work out.[p]Tonia

    Smoked Signals,
Small pork butt. Put it on at 8:00 AM. It's actually my first one. If it turns out half as good as TRex's, I'll be happy.[p]Spring Chicken

Smoked Signals,[p]Found a fat old chicken in the freezer, so he's now sitting in the sink courting bacteria and defrosting. Got some getting kinda stale white wine in a bottle (how did I do THAT), so may do the beercan with wine in it so highly touted just a few threads ago. Have a thing I've gotta be at by 7, so need ot whip up a dessert for that. [p]What do I WANT to do? Curl up on the papasan chair out back and read and fall asleep in the sun. But gotta get over to the Temple. It's Mitzvah Day and there will be a few hundred hungries and I'm helping with lunch.[p]These good deeds are gonna kill me.[p]mShark

    Smoked Signals,
Roasting 3 stuffed pork chops for supper-the egg does a great job with these, grilled parsnip slices, home made applesauce, sour cream pound cake and coffee for dessert.

    QBabe,
Here it is.[p]Sour Cream Pound Cake[p]3 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter, (or 1/2 cup butter and 1//2 cup crisco)
    3 cups sugar
    6 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 teaspoons almond extract
1 cup real pure 100% sour cream :o)[p]Cream together butter and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and almond extract.
Add dry ingredients and mix. Add sour cream and mix untill smooth and creamy. Pour batter into well greased 10 inch tube pan.
Bake in a 325 degree oven 1 hour, 15 minutes or untill cake tests done.
Great served with strawberries and whipped cream.[p]7471d023.jpg[p]
