    egret,
My goodness Mr. Hall, I'd say you had success!! That loaf looks fantastic. Fresh bread like that wouldn't even need butter.[p]Makes my mouth water![p]Banker John

  • egret,[p]Awesome! I'm inspired! Fresh bread is the best.[p]Rookie question: How did you get the labels on the photos?

    yoyo_in_atlanta,
I use Adobe Photoshop for my photo editing. I also used it here to combine the five shots into a single image.......

    egret,
Have you made homemade butter? It is pretty easy; we did it a few weeks ago with the girls (5&2) in preparation for a true homemade apple pie (yes, it was heavenly!)[p]It is so easy to make butter. Start with heavy whipping cream, set it out on the counter about 30 minutes. Pour it into a wide mouth mason jar. Seal the jar and roll it or shake it gently. After about 10-15 minutes, the butter will form. Pour off the buttermilk (reserve it to make bread) and transfer to a glass or stainless steel bowl. Take a silicone spoon and work the butter to further remove butter milk. Gently add cold, non chlorinated water to the butter and mix into the butter with the spatula, then pour off the water when it clouds. Continue with the water until the butter renders no more butter milk. Now add a pinch of salt and any herbs or ingredients you wish (I've added garlic, pesto, all kinds of herbs, Dizzy Pig products to name a few). Chill in the fridge while the new bread made with the buttermilk is rising and baking. [p]Try this, you may like it![p]Banker John

  • egret,[p]Cool. So now I need to budget for an egg and some software....Banker John needs to cough up a bigger loan every time I sign on!

    It's only money LOL[p]Banker John

  • Banker John,[p]Eh? Only money? I don't see any money around here. You mean "it is only debt"!!![p]My BGE "extras" wish list is getting rather extensive. Plate setter. Pizza stone. Pizza rack. Pizza spatula. Meat thermometer. Nest. Cast iron pans. Photoshop. I bet I've missed tons. Hope it is considered part of the real estate during appraisal time!

    Banker John,
I copied that recipe. That sounds intriguing. Joan already thinks I go way overboard, what with all these rubs, BBQ sauces, talking in my sleep about gurus, etc..........

  • QBabe,[p]You are slowly becoming my favorite person alive!!!
