This probably isn't new to long time posters, but I haven't ever seen it mentioned on this board. Last weekend while preparing ribs for the first time I was trying to get that pesky membrane off. It dawned on me that what I was fighting was similiar to skining a catfish so I got that special little tool out of my tackle box and it worked like a charm! For the non-fisherpersons out there - that tool looks like snub nosed pliers with a wide jaw. You can get them any good place that sells fishing gear. Mine are old, but I'll bet 3 or 4 bucks is all they cost. ^oo^~
