Pork Picnic vs. Boston Butt

Ok, so I came across a couple of pork picnics yesterday for $8.00/piece and I figured what the heck....might as well try 'em. I usually do boston butts, but figured I'd give them a try since they were so cheap.

I'm trying to figure if the cook times would be different for these cuts vs. butts and if Bad Byron's Butt Rubb would taste ok on them? Any suggestions are MUCH appreciated!!!

Thanks

Brandon

Cook times should be similar. The picnic might be a little leaner, might cook a few minutes faster.

  • Cook times should be similar. I actually like picnic better than butt. Pork is pork, use whatever rub you like for pork.
