For those who want to get *really* serious, here's a site with digital thermometers used by the quality assurance folks in the food industry. Some come with a variety of probe types available, and can measure up to 1000 degrees F +/- 1 degree.[p]Bob

Bob,[p]Neat sight. According to it, our Polder type probes are thermister types and that was news to me. I thought those were a thermocouple type and the instant reading models were thermister types. [p]Maybe someone will try one of those IR models. Read it thru the chimney - not![p]Tim
