Alton made a cool Gyro sandwich in the oven and out on a grill last night ... just wondering what everyone thinks about it?[p]The oven one looked like a lambloaf in a pan ... I bet it was good though.[p]Just wanting some input... [p]Doug

    Smoked Signals,
They are great on the egg. I make them more of a cone shape and stand them up on a cake pan and do them direct at about 300°. If it's a big crowd I slice them off right on the egg so that one edge is always sort of browned.[p]HTH

the gyros ive had around here were made from small ground lamb patties. better than the patties for makeing your own would be kibbee. make like a meat loaf and smoke, slice and serve with the yogurt sauce. ive only made the kibbee in the egg and had it with eggs, but in a gyro it would rule
