New Maverick boiling water check

Put the probe in pot and brought it to a boil....Maverick reads 214.

I would say so. You want the probe to be an inch or so off the bottom of the pot - it can read a little high if you get close to the metal or touch the pot with the probe

I had it suspended about 1-2 inches off the bottom. I think 214 is a pretty good read.

Vanzo it depends on your elevation and pressure at the time of the test as well.

The Thermopen website has boiling point calculator for altitude and barometric pressure.
At my house the boiling point is 201-202' depending on the barometric pressure.
