In honor of the 67th anniversary of D-day, here's a link I usually post every year. A few others have found it interesting over the years, so I'm posting it again for anyone who might not have seen it the first cuppla times before.

The CBS News D-day Reports: Complete Broadcast Day, June 6, 1944

A link to CBS radio's first reports, and the rest of the broadcast day, of their picking up reports from German radio announcing that apparently the long-awaited invasion of the France has begun in the Le Havre area. In a time when we get reports and video almost instantaneously, it's a little chilling to hear this as it was reported, in fits and starts.
