Ga Mountain Fest Apple Crisp Recipe
TaterBoat
Posts: 5
6 apples (3 gala, 3 fuji) peeled and chopped
1/2 shot (1/2 oz.) orange liqueur
2 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. maple syrup
12 tbsp. light brown sugar (separated)
2 tsp. cinnamon (separated)
1 stick butter
1 cup granola (I use maple-almond)
flour as needed
Combine apples, liqueur, honey, syrup, 4tbsp. brown sugar, and 1tsp. cinnamon. Cover and cook over med/med-high heat until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in flour 1tbsp. at a time until you reach the desired texture. Should be between pie and cobbler texture.
Melt butter, then stir in remaining brown sugar and cinnamon. This mixture won't dissolve completely, that's fine. Put granola in a zipper bag, add butter mixture and shake/knead to fully coat granola.
Put apple mix in a dish, cover evenly with granola and return to heat (350) uncovered until granola is lightly browned. (10-15 minutes)

Realized I forgot setup instructions. Cook over a stone, no grate. Shim your pot/dish off the stone to allow for airflow. If I didn't explain something clearly enough, please email me for clarification. At home we serve this with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream. Works great with peaches too!
