A friend of mine recently passed away had a wonderful recipie for kalbi ribs he got while stationed in Guam. I never did get the recipie though. Just wondering if anyone has been stationed in Guam and knows a good kalbi recipie.[p]Aloha![p]Greg

    Yo Greg,
Glad to see you are still kicking. What's up w/ the guava wood and parrot thing?
Anyway took me a while to figure out kalbi = Korean Gal Bee.
Love'em. I look for the short ribs cut 1/2" thick w/ 3 ribs connected.
Marinate 2-4 lbs ribs as above in equal parts rice wine & sugar. Couple of hours.
    Sauce/ second marinade
    5 T soy
    2 T sugar
    1 T rice wine
    2 T seasame oil
    1 clove garlic smashed
    1 t ginger smashed
    2 green onions minced
2 t seasame seeds, toasted and smashed
    blk pepper to taste
2-3 T water to dilute to a med thick sauce.
Marinate ribs in sauce over night.
Grill hot a few minutes or low and slow for an hour or two.
    Hope this helps.

DTM,[p]Wow it HAS been awhile. No I'm not doing perches any more. That is another guy here using guava for perches. I only sell guava chunks. Period. I am getting back into it thanks to a couple factors which I would be happy to go into in an email.[p]Anyway I'm here to stay. Thanks for the recipe.[p]Aloha
