The chicken turned out great last nite. I rubbed it with Tsunami Spin and let it sit while getting the egg up to temp. Set it up for indirect and put the bird on. Let it go 30 mins meat side down them fliped once and went another 30 mins. It came out absolutely perfect and really simple. Next time I may try it direct just to see which i like best. Thanks again for the help.

    DHall,
I have found that when doing Spatch Chicken indirect, I do not need to flip the chicken. I tried direct as well as direct over a raised grid. The direct kinda burnt the fireside of the chicken and required more tending to the cook. I now prefer the direct raised grid method; No flip, no peek required. [p]Try yours different ways and develop your own 'favorite' method. Let us know your tests and results and what you like best. Remember, there is no WRONG way to grill; I have found it is always a personal preference.[p]Banker John
