My Egg was a mess, all black sticky stuff and needing a new gasket. I cleaned all the gasket off I could with a knife. Filled the cooker with about 7 pounds of lump and let it go wide open until all had burned up. It cleaned everything like a self cleaning oven, Even made the rim where the Gasket goes white, needing no other cleaning at all.

Gene,
just curious, how long did 7lb's take to burn wide open?

Zippy, I don't know. I checked and it was 600 degrees hours later. found out it was still at 600 the next day. Have to reset it.
