Started off at 450 for about 45 minutes. Skin was nice and crisp but still fell of the chicken when slicing.
Lowered temp to 350 for the rest of the cook. I haven't done one of these for awhile, so thanks to terrafirmay for getting me going on these again.
Wife was really happy.[p]![beercanholder.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/mjm1000/beercanholder.jpg)
Threw on some parsley flakes as well.[p]
[p]Chow time.[p]

Car Wash Mike,[p]What a great looking Butt stand. Where did you get that one? I think I might need to buy one like that or might have to make one.[p]:o)[p]

I know you didn't ask me, but here's an alternative chicken sitter that works well and clean up is simple since it is ceramic. The large one in front is for chicken and the small is for a Cornish game hen. You merely pour your beer/wine/spices into it vs using a beer can. The other real advantage is it is highly stable with that wide base.

RRP,
I had a a few of them, worked great. I say had because I tried to pick one up with tongs while still hot and it broke.
But, thanks for chiming in.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike, I learned that slipping a spatula under it with one hand and any utensil to stablize it in the other hand works fine. BTW how did that smart chicken turn out? I've looked in our locale with no luck so guess I'll have to stick with the dumb ones!

RRP,
LOL, We have had fresh Smart chickens here for over a year. I actually bought 1 out of frustration because all Tyson was frozen and we needed to cook. Never went back.
Thanks for the heads up on the spatula.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,[p]Didn't mean to start trouble boys.
) I just like the looks of a good, steel, unbreakable, durable, heavy, piece of equipment. [p]Thanks RRP! I was not aware of the ceramic ones either. Do the ceramic ones have a glaze on them? [p]Joe
