After seeing a small BGE this past weekend, I am starting to talk the wife into a small for camping. With a family of 4, the mini may be too small. A few small questions...[p]Is there a plate setter for the small?
What size pizza stone to get for the small?
Does the small have a spring assist band, the same as what comes on the medium and up?[p]Banker John

    Banker John,

Nope, no plate setter. I use the small 12" Pizza stone in both my small Eggs. And yes, it does have the spring assist band.[p]TNW

    Banker John,
The small is excellent for camping. It has a spring assist band, I got a 12 inch pizza stone and it just makes it. There is no plate setter but I use a few bricks I cut in half to block off the direct fire. Have also used field stones I picked up around the campsite.
Take a look at our website to see our small in action

    Banker John,
you already have your answers, but let me add...it will serve your family fine whether camping or at home. I use my small 60% of the time. You'll find it to be a terrific steak machine as well. Plead, beg or whatever to get one! [p]PS when will the pixs be posted from yesterday and who has promised to do that - and where of course???

RRP,[p]Is there a plate setter for the small?[p]Seeing as I do not own a camera, I am not responsible. My father in law just e-mailed me some photos of the eggfest. I'd be happy to e-mail them to someone who has the ability to post them.[p]One of the pizzas I made used the sauce recipe you sent me over a year ago. When I made the batch then, I foodsavered one and threw it in the freezer. As I was getting ready for the eggfest, I saw it, pulled it out and threw it in the trailer to take. Plenty of compliments on the sauce![p]Banker John

    Banker John,
no like TNW and Camp Cook said there is no plate sitter, nor is there a cast iron grill either. For the former use a 12" pizza stone raised up with fire bricks. As for the latter you'll need someone to cut one for you like I did.[p]IMG_00851.jpg

Banker John,[p]There is no plate setter, but BGE makes a deep dish pizza stone that works wonderfully as a plate setter. I also line it with foil and use it for a drip pan as well.[p]It's GREAT for camping! [p]It was really good to see you again. So glad you could make it to the Fest this year! Those pizzas of yours were delicious and went like hotcakes...[p]Tonia
