Pyrat Rum for Mojo Pork? Any substitute?

on the NW site. I see he refers to Pyrat Pistol rum. I am not a rum guy per se. I have some clear and spiced rum at my house. Do I need Pyrat Pistol rum or can use a dark spiced or light rum? Not sure what Pyrat is, so figured I'd ask here first.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I use Pyrat as a nice sipping rum straight up. I think it's too expensive to cook with. I'd use any dark rum (Bacardi, Cruzan, etc) for your pork.

got ya, i got some cheap dark and light rum in the house, just didn't know if Pyrat Pistol Rum was light or dark, etc.
Dark rum it will be - thanks! -
If you have it, drink the good stuff and try some Bacardi Gold or a good ineggspensive Jamacian. Several options. The sauce and marinade does not recognize the pedigree of the bottle.
