Well, it's finally happened to me. I now am the proud owner of a freshly cracked firebox. It happened after cooking 4 pizza pies this past Sunday. I plan on using it until I make another trek to Atlanta, where I will exchange it. Damn...thought I was just a lucky man.

don't think of it as a crack - it's a thermal expansion joint.

Mine cracked just shortly after I started cooking as well. Still in one piece though.. just haven't got around to getting a replacement. Welcome!
