Slab question for Large Egg in table

Ok guys so I built my table last weekend and loved the way it turned out. I have a lagoon laver under my egg for the heat protection but I was wondering something. I have some leftover marble tile from when I built the bar in my basement and I was wondering how you think they would hold up to the heat. I was thinking of placing them two thick so it would end up about an inch thick. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I don't know how marble holds up to heat. I think it would be fine. Common suggestion is to use the Big Green Egg feet for spacing under the egg and you will be fine.

I actually have the feet under mine even now with the patio block. I think I will give it a try. Should look a lot nicer as well.
