Picked up 5# of Ataulfo mangos at Sam's for $6.98!! I was a little surprised they had them (they are seasonal and I never can remember the season) and at the price, I couldn't pass them up.
Peeled and bagged for future use - into the freezer
Thought I would try putting a little char on one - sliced through the seed.
Carefully removed the seed and pimped up a pineapple
Getting a little char on - after the mango halves were on a while the mango was easily flattened by pressing in the middle
Pretty darn good

Mightyfine - nice for cocktails as well
Added some milk and ice - dusted the top with a few shakes of pineapple head

Just spliced it down the middle with a sharp knife then worked around the seed. A grapefruit knife would have been handy but couldn't find ours.

Nice find. We like to make a cobbler. A fellow egging buddy "Avocado Joe" 'cause he has avocado trees also is my mango connection. They come ripe in late June/early July. Have a smoothie for us.
