Is the roost available from the dealers yet, or when will it be, and the cost? I'm thinking of getting a large demo this summer with the roost. The woman I spoke with at my dealer had no idea so she will ask someone else on Monday. Of course I want to know now.

Patty O: The Roost debuted at the Sunshine State Eggfest, so it is not a surprise your dealer had no clue. It is made by a stand alone company called Select Outdoor is their link:

Buy direct from them. The Rep that was at Sunshine State Eggfest was named Mike. And my apologies, but I do not recall the price.

    Patty O:
Michelle is correct on the maker of the roost. I spoke with Mike at the fest about the price and it was $999.99. Mike travels all around the country to Eggfest and usualy has one or two with him to sell. I spent a lot of time talking with Mike talking about his products and I think they are very well built products that will last a lifetime and they are well worth the money.

I don't doubt the quality, but $1000.00 seems high when you can buy either of the below for $750 with free shipping.

I bought this from the same seller last year for $500.00 plus shipping.

After reading about "The Roost", on their website it looks like you still need to by a nest for the roost to bolt to.

Some folks already have a nest, but if you didn't and if the $1000.00 price tag quoted above is correct, a wheeled roost would run in the neighborhood of 1175.00 (plus tax). Yowza. I imagine the quality is nice, but that's an expensive piece of HDPE.
