I would think so Billy...I would set it on a pizza stone to keep the fire off the crock pot.

i put bean pots in all the time,not easy to clean afterwards but work fine. i believe you would have no problem, no plastic cover though if you had a glass one. try it inderect in a pan big enough to contain the contents if it doesnt work, but i think it would be fine
