Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great advice, tips and suggetions that have been posted to the forum over the last few years. I had been considering the BGE for a couple of years but was never quite willing to pull the trigger. The wife and I decided last week to take the plunge. [p]My job requires that I travel weekly so I'm normally only home on weekends. I'm starting a new position next week that allows me to work from home 3 weeks of the month. That was enough to convince the wife that we needed a BGE. So after downloading the table plans, I flew home last Friday. Stopped at Lowes on the way home from the airport and made my purchases. By 11:00 on Saturday, our table was complete. A quick 3 hour round trip and our new BGE was at its new home. Assembly was a breeze and that night we had our first meal off the BGE.[p]Dinner was hamburgers and hot dogs. I wanted to keep it simple the first time. Family loved them. I'd forgot just how good a hamburger done over charcoal was. Sunday morning started with pork chops and bacon done on the BGE. Bacon was fantastic. For lunch, I TREXed 4 filets about 2 1/2 thick. Also did chicken breasts while I was bringing the temp down. Another winner. [p]I am really looking forward to trying a boston butt this weekend. I have most of my accessories but my dealer doesn't carry the cast iron cooking grate. So I'm on the hunt for it.[p]Thanks again for all the great info and pics.
