Lump Charcoal

Hi Everyone,

I checked the Whiz's website and couldn't find anything out about Grill Mark Lump Charcoal. I do know that it is made in the US and sold at ACE hardware. One of our grocery stores is carrying an 18lb. bag for $7.99. Anyone know anything about this lump? Thanks for all the input.

Don't know anything about it but at $7.99 for 18lbs. it sounds like a good deal. Is it raw Lump or Lump briquettes?

Check the back of the bag and make sure there's no additives or fillers (if they are briquettes). You should also be able to determine country of origin and what hardwoods are used.

The bag says 100% natural wood char---no chemicals, burns hotter. Any ideas? :S

That same question was raised recently and it didn't get much in replies - for that price I'd say buy a bag and try it. Not that much to lose! BTW here's that thread from 4 days ago.
