I guess what I want to know is how long do you leave them on the grill? I don't want them to get dry! I am going to buy a buschel for this weekend!

we put on the egg for just a few minutes to get them to just start to open. then you can leave on the half shell and top with a mixture of fresh garlic, parm and butter. cook just to tender. ot take out of the shell and I use a small cast iron pan and roll the oysters in panko and cook in the butter mixture -
Add a little white wine to MaineEgg's recipe and I like them the same way.
Cook them til the edges of the oyster meat start to ribbon. Hint - hard to undercook em...that is if you like raws like we do. However; overcooking can go wrong in a hurry. Have fun! -
Wow those look great! I am getting some gulf oysters maybe they will not have any oil in them!!!

those in my pics are gulf oysters and were wonderful. and you do not have to worry they would not be for sale if they might not be :)and we do the wine too and it puts it over the top good

...with hot sauce on a saltine and beers.

These had a mixture of spinach, garlic, parmesan cheese, butter, and a little bacon I think. Each oyster only needed just a little bit of that mixture. Cook time wasn't very long. Heck, we usually slug 'em down raw, so any cook time will work. Good luck. Joe

OconeeDog,
I have chargrilled alot of oysters on the egg. I put some crazy toppings on them too. Usually they take 8 minutes or so, with a 375-400 dome temp.
Here are some of the oysters posts I have made:

You really can't go wrong. I like the edges of whatever you use as a topping to get all brown and crusty.
Take pics! Have fun!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
