Steak bits on a salt block

Got the idea from Mark Bitterman, owner of the salt purveyor The Meadow http://www.atthemeadow.com
Heated my salt block to 450 and dropped some thin pieces of steak on. Mark recommended flank steak; I used top sirloin. I think just about any piece of cow will work.
Just drop the pieces of unseasoned raw steak on the heated salt block; cook for 20 seconds to 1 minute per side turning once.
Eat.
It was a OMG moment for me. THIS is how I want my steak to taste.
No pictures - I was too busy eating.

Not only cow, but lamb, pork, fish and a few others not yet tried.

Scallops totally rock!

This would rock as an idea for a deck party. Give everyone long handled fondue forks and call it "dry fondue" :woohoo:Knoxville, TN

Great idea Chris! I was in your fair city just yesterday...emergency concrete work to close with the county....left Athens, Ga @ 4:00am, left Knox around 8:00pm-work done, I'm whooped! Needed you to cook for us!

PS: Make sure the block is 450 or higher.
Otherwise the food (cow) will taste too salty.
