<p />marinated these for 24 hours then coated them with hot sesame seed oil and cooked for i minute at 850 on a raised grill direct. sweet and hot, it amazes me that some first cooks on an egg are far better than what resteraunts serve. using good sirloin helps a bit

  • fishlessman,
Thanks for the pics. Those look awesome!

  • fishlessman,
That looks great, maybe something to try this weekend. You used sirloin strip steaks, right? Cut against the grain?[p]

    egghead2004,
it was a cheap sirloin supermarket steak with the fat around the edges, maybe cut from a roast. it didnt look like a strip steak, but any good sirloin cut would work well. the grain was side ways to the stick at 90 degrees. 1 cup soy,1/3 cup bron sugar, 2 tbl turbinado 1tbl cowlick 1tbl garlic pow, 1tbl onion pow, 1tsp garam masala, 1 tsp prepared ginger, 1/2 tsp wasabi prepared, 2 tbl housin sauce, some vinegar sauce and 3 tbl hot sesame oil.simmered then cooled for the marinade. added some more sugar and black pepper when simmered and tasted. ive been buying the ginger and wasabi in those toothpaste tubes for use in marinades lately, good stuff

  • fishlessman,
Thanks, There is nothing on the menu yet for tonight, I think an 800 degree fire in the snow would be fun.
