Now that was scary

Last night my wife and I decided to have an easy egg night. Nothing fancy just a couple a cheeseburgers made with chopped onions, salt and pepper and some Peter Luger sauce. My daughter on the other hand wanted chicken. So I marinated a few thinly sliced chicken cutlets in some Italian dressing and proceeded to cook. I got the egg to 550 deg. through the burgers and chicken on. Now comes the scary part. While turning the chicken I was not paying attention and I did not have a good grip on one of the chicken cutlets and it slipped out of the tongs and through the grate. Well no big deal I thought I will just have to clean up the mess later. 5 minutes later when the chicken and burgers came off the grill I removed the grate and reached in with my tongs to get the chicken that slipped off. Much to my surprise there was nothing left but chicken ash. I would have had a complete mess with my gasser even after trying to burn off the marinade with high heat. Lesson learned this egg thing really cleans up after itself and never ever turn your back on this bad boy.
Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday.
