anyone have one, dont think ive ever seen one before. place near me had one for sale that looked big enough to heat the bathroom in the winter, would be nice to have a heater in the bath, maybe dry towels on the low setting most of the year and heat to take the chill out of the room when its gets cold. on line they come in wattages from 80 to 700 plus is there a rule of thumb for wattage, the one they had was 450 watts which i think is big enough to keep the pipes from freezing

I have wanted one ever since we moved to the PNW. Towels stay so damp here. I wanted it to dry out the towels as much as to warm them.

I looked into them quite a bit when we moved to this current home. There were so many to choose from. I'm not good with choices. Also a rather tremendous price range, if I recall correctly.

So we never got one. But I still would like to have them!

In both bathrooms, they would have to be in awkward places due to that's where the elec outlets are. If I were building or remodeling, I would get the built in kind.

If you get one, let me know which one you chose.

i didnt think anyone actually had one, you would have been my best bet  my house is literally 6 feet from the lake, fog rolls into the house some mornings, place is always damp. only place i can hang one is on the back of the bathroom door and i have a plug on the right side so it needs to be a plug in model. if it dries the towells and throws enough heat to keep the room semi warm in the winter, ill be reel happy, looks like a lot of cheap low wattage models out there, most reviews seem to be both ends as great or worst

I honestly wouldn't count on it heating the room at all. I don't think they give out that much heat.

I'm surprised no one here has one. There seems to be a lot of people on this list who have diy skills and are also into 'gadgets.' I bet people have them. They just don't check the 'off topic' forum enough!

most of the ones ive seen online ranged between 80 to a hundred watts, this ones 4 times more wattage at 450. if i were buiying a heater for the room around 700 would do it, just hoping it keeps it at a temp that the plumbing doesnt freeze if someone shuts the door at night. any ways it beats a frozen towell, ive seen that, frozen solid  the one i saw at the store was 250 watts, i couldnt keep my hand on it for more than 7 or 8 seconds, with towels on it it probably will be insulated though

  • We put a heating rack in each bathroom during the major remodeling a few years ago and LOVE them!!
Didn't pay the big bucks from the plumbing supply showroom (spent a small fortune there as it was!) But searched online and have been pleased. Contractor modified with a.button switch to turn on/off.
Dries towels and sure is nice to wrap a warm one around a wet bod ;)
