The temperatures in Peoria are more like the normal temperatures in Mississippi - about 90 and humid. But, what a wonderful day! [p]I worked in my gardens most of today... at one time I had almost 200 variety of Hosta... now I just grab a cold beer and check out what grew today - more fun now. [p]Back to the BBQ...[p]I made ChefRD's Hot Wings for lunch. In fact I made enough so that I would have wings for lunch tomorrow. About the time the grill started cooling, I fired it back up for some really nice pork chops.[p]No pictures tonight, just thoughts. I wish all of you a great evening and the best in BBQ!

    Gfw,
Life is good in Illinois! Sounds like a wonderful kind of way to spend the day complete with the wings for lunch. How did you cook your chops?

SpiceCooks, really great to hear from you... absolutely nothing special on the chops - a little mustard and some salt and pepper. At 700 degrees we did 3 minutes per side and a 7 minute slowdown. Boring, but absolutely great with 2 sweet potaotes, where are you Dr. Chicken? [p]BTW: How are you enjoying your new digs?

Gfw,[p]Yeppers Gfw, life in IL is good. The weather is starting to get into those dog days already but the garden is growing like a weed. Pulled the first of the broccole last night and steamed it, no big blob of melted cheese like you always show but good none the less. Sounds like the garden in your neck of the woods is going great guns also. 200 Hosta? My wife would be so jealous. Cold Beer, I'm so jealous. Oh well, the weekend is almost here, big block paryt planned this weekend, should be fun.[p]I think Doc is working the night shift for awhile. I haven't heard from him for a week or so but he emailed awhile back mentioning his schedule. He'll be back soon, as soon as he catches up on some sleep.[p]Wings and chops sound great. Some times nice and easy is the way to go. Enjoy the weather, storms on the way this afternoon and evening, then clear this weekend, at least in S. IL.[p]Troy
