Mushrooms Soup Recipe

Yo to all, I mentioned this recipe in another thread and said I would post it so here we go. The soup recipe calls for cherry smoked bacon and all sorts of information on egging bacon can be found in the posts in the thread linked below.[p]While the bacon is cooking, I place white mushrooms on the grill, but like the bacon it does not sit directly over the coals. I cut the stem flush with the bottom of the cap and start the mushrooms, stem side down. After 15 minutes, I will turn the mushrooms stem side up. The mushrooms are done when they are soft to touch.[p]When the 'shrooms are done, I place them in a container and refrigerate. They really soak up the smoke and are great for adding to casseroles and soup. They also fry up nicely in a tempura batter and you get the best of both worlds, something smoked that is also deep fried,. LOL[p]The soup recipe uses Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup, chopped smoked bacon and mushrooms and potatoes. I use just half a can of milk for a thicker soup. I will bake/nuke a medium sized potato until it is a little more than half way done, then peel it and cut the potato into chunks. The best ratio I have found for this recipe is to use one strip of bacon, one golf ball sized mushroom and one medium potato for every 10.75 ounce can of soup. The only spices I add are salt and pepper. Good stuff on a cold day![p]Lager,[p]Juggy[p]

  • Juggy D Beerman,[p]How you been, keeping those kids in line? My bacon never seems to make it past, the off the grill stage. Stuff is just to good for me not eat right away. I'll try better. That sounds yummy.[p]Take care man,[p]Mike[p]

    Juggy D Beerman....Yo my man,
That sounds great. I had some onion soup w/ mushrooms from the Curves diet plan recipe book. Don't ask why. I'm telling you that was some good onion soup. Now grilled mushrooms in that thing would ramp it up. Thanks for the ideas.
