need a little help xl BGE table
TPE
Posts: 2
The plans I’ve seen for the XL green egg table call for an opening of 26.25 and top-to-shelf measurement of 12.5 inches. However, I measured my egg from hinge (lid open) to the base and it is 11.5 inches. Since I’m recessing slate in the bottom shelf I don’t want to mess this up and have to add a paver so can anyone verify the correct measurements. Based on what I measure I came up with a hole cut out of 26 inches and a top-to-shelf measurement of 11.5 inches.

I don't have an XL, but from what you are saying, your shelf height will match your hinge to base measurement. I think I would want at least an inch clearance. Just my .02ct

Thank you Sir, thats what I'm thinking as well.

The BGE table measurements include some extra space so you can put a paving stone under the egg. If you are recessing stone into the table then you would need to make the shelf closer to the top of the table.
