<p />Strange Apparition of the Egg[p]
The other night, while cooking some dinner, pork loin I believe, I had the egg chugging away at about 400 F, the smoke plume was intense, wafting into the sub-zero PA winter night. After checking the food, I closed the lid, then adjusted the air flow a bit. The daisy wheel was in the open position and cocked to one side about 50% of the way, and the lower vent was about 40% open. Turning away, I looked back and checked again (yes they were open) then walked into the house. Just a few minutes later I went back to the egg and was surprised to find the daisy wheel closed, and it was no longer cocked to one side, it was centered on the vent. I know I had double-checked it after closing, and it was open. The lower vent was still open. In the words of Dave Berry, I am not making this up!![p]Hmmmm, could it be a long lost BGE enthusiast’s ghost coming to haunt me? Has anyone else experienced this strange behavior of their daisy wheels and vent? After readjusting the vents I decided to take a few photographs that night, mostly to show the amazing amount of smoke I was generating, but as I did, the lens caught something quite strange…..which might explain the mysterious closing vent. [p][p]Egged in PA[p]PS the story about the vent is true, does anyone know why this might have happened?
