Want a really good rub for Steaks?

Sams has Durkee Six Pepper Blend, a zesty mix of black and white pepper, red and green bell peppers, plus jalapeno and chili peppers. The product is multi-colored and somewhat coarse in appearance. It's less than 10 dollars for a 22 ounce container. Out of all the rubs I've used, it has to be my favorite rub for steaks. Let me know what you think.[p]

Smoke 'N Hiawassee,[p]Does sound good. I usually take a batch of mixed peppercorns and whoosh them in my coffee grinder with a little celery salt. Probably ends up similar. Can you taste the chili/jalapeno in there at all? Was pondering tossing in a coffee bean next round to see what that does for it.[p]mShark

    Smoke 'N Hiawassee,
I did not care for the addition of Caraway seed in this pepper blend. [p]I did pickup some of the Tone's Lime Pepper. It is good on veggies and fish.

  • thirdeye,
I have found that McCormick's Montreal Rub is a great rub by itself and it is also a good base for adding your own favorites. Thier are severel variations that Kroger or Winn-Dixie offer, close but not quite as good.
