Got this cool new grid cleaner and decided to see what all it could do.....
<img src=http://www.wessb.com/Gadget/3.jpg>
It cleans the cooking grid VERY well, it gets all that gunk from the sides and the bottom of the grid very easily...it also worked as a grid lifter...obviously you can stir the ash with it...at 23" long it worked fine for stirring the lump in my large egg with an extended grid or platesetter without having to move any of the grids, it easily reaches past them down to the lump....

I discovered it will easily lift the firering from the firebox, as many have complained about, just jiggle it in between and a little twist and the ring is up...and hey when it`s clean it makes a damn good back scratcher..LOL...

I am not promoting this for BGE, just sharing what I think should be in everyones arsenal of gadgets...BGE tells me it sells for around $17...not sure if any dealers have them or not, but you should be able to get them from BGE in Atlanta...Hope you like it[p]Wess

    trout16,
    No idea on a part number..it is a brand new product they are starting to carry..I would say you would have to cantact BGE in Atlanta..HTH[p]Wess

  • trout16,[p]yeah it's me "Chet" finally put a profile up there...been putting it off for so long I can't even remember. Planned to get some pics of my new and improved outdoor / carport kitchen first...but it ain't been improved one little bit, so maybe if I ever get a-round-to-it I can update it then...[p]just gonna say I'd like one of them gadgets and got some stuff to go to the big store for anyhow so looks like that'll be added to the arsenal...in the mean time for anyone that would like something to get em by till they get one...one of the .98 cent meat forks from wal-mart works about like that one would (for cleaning grid) except you'll have to have a real good glove if it's hot cause they aren't near that long. I've been using one for that purpose for a couple years and it works better than all that stuff on the shelf that is sold for that purpose.

    WessB,[p]Looks good, but I'd be concerned about scratching the finish on the grid -- that's why, for example, they tell us not to use steel wire brushes but to use brass instead.[p]Or am I being too careful??

    mad max beyond eggdome,[p]I'm with you, Max. No way will I have one until it matches my custom Lawn Ranger tools! I have one hook left on my rack and this would be a great addition.[p]What is kinda odd is that some of my grids are starting to look rusted. Somehow I don't think that is real healthy. Hmm.[p]mShark
  • WessB,
    I am in the process of putting in a paved patio area which will be the home of my Large , medium and small. I want to create an outside Island for the large and the medium and have a Bar attached for the fellas to enjoy a beer. I also plan to put a Gabled roof cover. Any insight to some good pics to gain Ideas from?[p]Metro
