Two whole filets w/ no grid extender and plenty of room to spare, could've done 3! I was pleasantly suprised and impressed on the ease of cooking and maintaining temp. You definitely need only a SMALL amount of charcoal/chunks to start out. Get the fire going directly in the center and spread out accordingly then. One drawback was the holes in the charcoal grate are approx. 5/8" round, this did suck up some of the smaller alder chips I used frequently as they pass thru. This was a very minor setback though. The filets turned out as great as if it came off the large egg. Very excited!
