    Mark Backer,
I know I'm going to be sorry I asked...but what's with the kool-ade references? Sounds like a scary cult thing?

Still Undecided - No More!!,[p]John--Yeaaaaa. I can tell you will be happy here.
Personally, I would trade in the vertical chicken roaster for a grid extender. But I love to place tasty things like lemons or onions & celery inside the chicken. I just acquired the extender and love the extra space.[p]I too bought a vertical roaster right off the bat. Used it once. Too hard to manage the bird and carry it inside when it's hot and top-heavy. Spatchcock chicken is tremendous.[p]I bet lots of folks love their vertical roasters...just my $.02. But get the extender for those things that you want to cook direct, just a bit further from the coals. And for the extra space.[p]Welcome, and happy cooking to you.

Still Undecided - No More!!, Pick up a polder type thermometer or two, they have a 4' cable attached to a probe. The monitor sits outside the Egg and has a timer & temp alarm. Really handy (even though your Guru will have a meat probe). Also a heavy pair of leather gloves. I went back to the 14" pizza stone, it seems to allow better air circulation.

    Happy Trails
