When do I put the cover on?

I usually wait until the next morning, if at all. Not if I plan on starting again later in the day. [p]But it's an ugly night here, I'm done, the wings are down, the daisy wheel is inside, the rain cap is on, the dome temp still reads 250. When is it safe to put the flannel-lined egg cover on?[p]Thanks.

Trouble,[p]You're going to spoil that thing. Mine's been exposed to the elements for 6 months and hasn't run off yet. It has breathed fire on me a couple of times though. Hmmm?

Yazoo,[p]Had my egg for years and have never used a cover. Egg is in the weather all the time and no problems. Wife wanted a cover so we bought one. I now use it to cover my generator.[p]OctoberGlory
