Thanks, Your's is outstanding! The moon is not the easiest thing to photograph. It took me several tries before I got anything to really like. I have not tried Saturn yet. The other planets are real tough as they reflect so little light. At least the moon sits up there once a month "like a big pizza pie. That's amore!"
Your braver and/or crazier then I am to face the cold to shoot the moon. It was still in the upper 60's last night when I shot that in my T-shirt and shorts.

Thanks for sharing! Your photos never disappoint...

Yeh it was around 2 or 3 degrees when I took it. One of the only clear nights we had or I wouldn't have gone outside
-
Thank you, I'm happy you like it.

My exposers on Jupiter's moons gets pretty long and you start to see the rotation of the earth.
This was shot last summer I think. I will have to try it again this winter when the humidity is lower, it may come out better. At the same time I may see what Saturn looks like.
There is a great planetarium program called Stellarium at http://stellarium.org/ that is FREE for the download.

I got Saturn tonight. Its only 40ish. I'll have to look through the images in the morning and post one in the next day or so.

"tide goes in, tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. You can't explain that."
BTW, Niiiiiiiiice picture, I wish I could do that. -
Thanks Gadfly, The tides where I grew up were like clock work, I they were 55 minutes later every day, no exceptions. You could alway set your watch by them and you always knew when it was time to go sailing or fishing. Here in Fort Myers that is far from the case and the tides are totally weird. The tides move very little, up north where I used to live they were 8-10 feet and would drain or fill the entire bay, down here they move 2-3 feet and sometimes less. Some days it is hard to say we had a tide. These tides you can't set your watch by. It's all very strange.
