Updating profile pic

I am trying to update the pic that shows up in the left hand corner of a post. I went to my profile, via the member list and uploaded a new photo. After some time the photo went from pending to showing up in my profile. When I posted a message the old pic still shows up. What am I doing wrong, please?

    Hi BB
    You have 2 images you can post, one on "Profile" page and the other that appears on your "Posts". I suspect you may have changed your "Profile" photo when you intended to change your photo with your "Posts" Hope this helps.

    Yes, when all else fails, read the directions. Found the instructions in the FAQ in the help section. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
