For direct cooking with a raised grill is the BGE grill extender (GX) the way to go, or is there something better?

Hope this helps -
I use fire bricks to raise my grid to gasket level. I use "split" bricks that are half the thickness of regular fire bricks. These are the right width to sit on the fire ring and be stable. Cut them to the length you need. Suggest six of these for the xl size and three for the small BGE. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. Didn't know about CGS, looking there and will decide on best solution.
