This weekend, I am going to do some customizing to my BGE table. I want to add a removeable box that hold papertowels, spices, etc (I saw a picture of LwanRanger's table on TNW site). I also want to add utesil holders, fold-away table extension, fold down rain cover, and a few other tid bits.[p]I'd like to get some feedback on what types of things have been done by the experienced Eggers. What types of custom features have you added? Can you post some close-up pictures? Let's share some ideas.[p]Thanks,
Brad

Fisheyes,
a hook for hanging extra grills under the extension table would be good. in the kitchen i have a magnetic strip for hanging knives which could be handy either on the side of the table or in a drawer to keep knives from banging into each other. if you could make the whole table float so that you could tow it with a boat, now that would be convenient

Fisheyes,
I use stainless steam table pans for holding a collection of utinsels and gadgets behind doors (out of sight) in the bottom of my table. I found a big old plastic tool box at Home Depot that I use to store spices and the like. The tool box has a set of compartments on the top intended for small items.

That was installed about 15 minutes after the table arrived at my house. Gotta have my priorities.[p]Brad

fishlessman,
Great idea about the magnetic strip. I'll have to come up with a good spot for one. I'm also going to hook up a light and a power strip which plugs into an extension cord.[p]I haven't quite figured out how to make it float, but I have been thinking about a way to mount the whole thing to the back of my truck. I'm thinking about customizing one of those steel trays that you hook into the towing hitch receiver. That would be great for tailgating and camping.[p]Brad

Fisheyes,
If you are serious about camping with an egg, take a look at my site. I built a table that fits in the back of the pickup bed and use a hitch reciever mounted cargo tray to hausl the egg and lump.

CampCook,
Wow! That is great.[p]I have a Large BGE, so I am in a little different situation. I need a strong setup that can handle the forces.[p]Thanks,

Fisheyes,
I attached a maple butcher box carving board I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond to the end of my table. It collapses so that the cover fits nicely. See below for the hardware - at less than $12 for a pair which holds up to 130 pounds that was a quick but nice addition.

Fisheyes,
Check out the Naked Whiz's addition - a polder holder (link to his picture below). The Polder Thermometer has magnets on the back, so he added some metal switch plates to his table. I always thought that was cool.
