looking for lump

I've been using BGE lump for some time now but understand there is other quality lump for less money. I understand Wicked Good and Royal Oak are top rated but can't find them anywhere locally. Shipping would double the cost so is not an option. Anyone know were to buy quality lump around Huntington Beach, Ca.?

If you call Royal Oak and talk to their customer service they will gladly tell you where you can buy their products in your area. The number is (678) 461 3200.

Also Ace Hardware Stores carry either Cowboy or Frontier lump. I have not been able to find the Frontier lately, it is very similar to Royal Oak. The Cowboy I am just now trying, so far I have not found anything wrong with it. It may burn hotter and faster but the jury is still out. Some Ace store will have a pretty good selection of smoking woods as well.

I think you're correct but BGE charges more for their label.

If you buy Royal Oak (and I do recommend it) make sure it is the USA manufactured stuff. It will say that on the back of the bag.

During the summer months, Walmart sells it for a little over $6 for 10 pounds.

I always keep a bag of Wicked Good around for very long cooks. I buy it at my BGE dealer (Fred's in Shillington, PA).

Do you have alot of room to stock lump? If you got alot of friends that would take advantage of a bulk purchase then maybe you can start calling around. I ordered Maple Leaf Lump, good all round and I sometimes by the ONO and the Orange Tree Lump. You should call around and see if they would ship to you. Try restaurant supply stores, I do dea with one locally and they have the best price.

Is there a Restaurant Depot near you? Their Royal Oak USA is a lot cheaper than Walmart and they carry it all year.

I saw Coboy Lump at HD also and it's only 6.95 a bag. I will be picking some up to test it, can't beat that price.

Dunno about your area but Wal-mart has Natures Grilling and Royal Oak. Nearly every Hardware store sells some sort of Lump. Home Hardware even sells Maple Leaf (which I really Like) I also really like Wicked good (probably my fave)

That's good! HD here carries no lump at all and the only dealer I know of here sells it for $25/bag!!
